Insomnia
Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder and chronic insomnia impacts 6-10% of the United States population. Insomnia is defined as difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep along with daytime consequences such as fatigue, difficulty with concentration/memory, depressed or irritable mood, and functional impairment such as missing work or school. Not being able to sleep well impacts every area of life. The good news is that there are highly effective non-medication treatments available. Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBTI) has been shown to be as effective as medications in numerous studies and the effects of CBTI are longer lasting than medications. Dr. Culver has extensive training and years of experience in CBTI as well as Brief Behavioral Treatment for Insomnia (BBTI). If you are experiencing sleep difficulties, Dr. Culver would be happy to work with you towards improving your sleep. Getting a good night’s rest can make all the difference.
